ejabberd-mod-message-log software package provides writes a line for each message to a log file, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ejabberd-mod-message-log
ejabberd-mod-message-log is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ejabberd-mod-message-log package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ejabberd-mod-message-log *
You will get with ejabberd-mod-message-log package name, version, architecture and description in a table
